 Open Day 2012 events included:

Tours of the Fort

Departing from the Main Gates - every hour on the hour from 0900h, with the last tour departing at 1400h.

Tours are delivered by professional tour guides, go for an hour and conclude at the Museum.

Art show featuring art by Michael Grant and current service men and women 


Public Talks

0900-0930h 'The Model Room', Building 52

Firing of the Guns

The Saluting Battery and 'Disappearing Gun' will be fired throughout the morning with pyrotechnical support. Each firing of the Saluting Battery will be followed by a performance by Australia's Federation Guard.

Saluting Battery: 0900h, 1015h and 1130h.

The Disappearing Gun: 1300h, 1345h and 1430h

Picnic on the Grounds

Commencing at 1230h.Bring a picnic and enjoy the performances on the Parade Ground with The Geelong RSL Pipes and Drums Band, The Victoria Police Pipes Band and the firing of the 'Disappearing Gun'.


Marching Out Parade

Commencing at 1445h.The Ceremonial Component of the day, with the Chief of Army reviewing the parade, Colonel Andrew Gallaway Director DSCM-A will lead the Army unit by marching out of the Fort supported by the Australian Army Band Melbourne and Australia's Federation Guard. The Parade will symbolically march along Hesse Street, like days in old when troops were reinforced via the railway line from Geelong. You are invited to join this parade and farewell the troops at Queenscliff's historical Railway station as they board the rail cars for the last time.
